SocialMedia Networks announced the launch of the first social-enabled advertising network. The SocialMedia Advertising Network gives advertisers the ability to target users based upon their social network profile and behavior using applications as an advertising channel.
According to Facebook, over 95 % of users interact with at least one application ("app") per week on their network, with over 14,000 applications currently being used. Operating since summer of 2007, the SocialMedia Advertising Platform delivers over three billion ad impressions to more than 15 million unique visitors per month. These ad impressions are delivered within 5,000+ applications running on Facebook, Bebo and MySpace for a blend of performance and brand advertisers.
