“South Park” misses deadline

South ParkPerhaps battery backup or a generator might be a good idea: The long-running Comedy Central icon missed its first air date ever 10/16. On Tuesday night, South Park Studios lost power. Animation, rendering, editing and sound computers were all down for hours, reported Canoe.ca/The Wrap. Due to the show’s well-known last-minute approach to finalizing episodes, the new show, Episode 1704 “Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers” was not done in time for air.

It’s the 240th episode in the cartoon’s history.

Said Co-creator Trey Parker: “It sucks to miss an air date but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen.”

In its place, Comedy Central aired a Live-Tweeted presentation of “Scott Tenorman Must Die” at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The new episode will air next Wednesday, 10/23.
