S&P 500, Dow worst drop in 5 weeks

Stocks closed sharply lower on Thursday, as investors turned risk-averse amid concerns of stalling growth in the euro zone and mixed domestic economic data, including reports on inflation and industrial production. The S&P 500 fell 17.68 points, or 0.9%, to 1,870.85. Dow dropped more than 200 points at session lows and closed off session lows, down 167.16 points, or 1%, at 16,446.81. The Nasdaq ended the day down 31.33 points, or 0.8%, at 4,069.29.


The RBR Radio Index was down 6.275, or .7%, to 896.044.

The TVBR Television Index was up 1.750, or .2%, to 801.854.
