The S&P ended the day 2.54 points, or 0.1%, higher at 1,864.85 and gained 2.7% over the past 4 days. The Dow closed 16.31 points, or 0.1%, lower at 16,408.54. The blue-chip index gained 2.4% over the past four days, recouping all of the losses from the previous week. The Nasdaq added 9.29 points, or 0.2%, to 4,095.52.
