Stalker scare for Dancing with the Stars

KTLA-TV Los Angeles reports that a 34-year-old man was arrested Monday after jumping a fence at the studio where ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” is produced. He was reportedly seeking DWTS contestant Shawn Johnson, who has now obtained a restraining order against him.

The intruder was stopped by security guards at CBS Studios, where the live program is produced, so there was no disruption of the broadcast. However, when police searched the man’s car, they found guns and duct tape.

Johnson, age 17, is an Olympic gymnastics champion and the youngest contest ever to compete on DWTS. Her mother filed court papers seeking the restraining order, saying that the young woman is in fear for her life and that the stalker believes that she communicates with him through television and via ESP.

The alleged stalker remains in jail unless he can post $35,000 bail.

According to Extra TV, the restraining order not only requires the man to stay away from Johnson, but also her parents and her DWTS dancing partner, Mark Ballas.
