A ready-made DIY radio group is headed to Sovereign City Radio Service, which in turn is a subsidiary of Mark Follett’s Catholic-oriented radio group Starboard Media Foundation. SMF will be picking up seven CPs, among other things. They’re coming from Advance Acquisition Inc. Two are for FMs, in Fort Benton MT and Socorro NM, and five are AMs, ioin Duluth MN, Ironwood MI, Houghton MI, Lake City FL and Bemidji MN. In addition, SMF will pick up all interests in CPs for four additional AMs that are still in the application stage, whether that interest winds up being collecting cash in a settlement agreement (one such agreement is alreayd in place) or in the form of an eventually-approved CP. SMF is getting the package in exchange for debt forgiveness, proceeds from the sale of two other Advance Acquisition FM licenses, in Evergreen MT and Soldier’s Grove WI, and SMF will pick up the tab to construct the stations.
