Bob Gutkowski says it was his idea to build a regional sports network for and controlled by the New York Yankees, and is taking not the team but its owner George Steinbrenner personally to court. Gutkowski, former president of the Madison Square Gardens, says he took the idea to Steinbrenner back in the 1996 and made a presentation on the topic in 1998. He now wants $23M in damages for fraud and breach of contract. Steinbrenner’s representatives call the charges frivolous.
