Just days after Chicago radio legend Jonathon Brandmeier was named morning driver at Tribune’s WGN Radio, another change has been made at the station’s lineup: This time, overnight co-hosts Steve King and Johnnie Putman are ending their 26-year run as Chicago’s top-rated overnight program. Their final show on WGN Radio will be Friday, 12/9, featuring a retrospective of the duo’s illustrious careers at the station with special guests and friends of the show.

Current fill-in host Bill Leff will take over overnight duties on WGN from midnight to 5:30 a.m., effective 12/12.

2010 and 2011 marked many significant milestones for Steve & Johnnie, including having Governor Quinn issue a proclamation for “Steve & Johnnie Day,” winning the Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome Award for Best Local Broadcast Team, and broadcasting their 6,000th show on WGN Radio.
