First time claims for unemployment payments fell for the second straight week and ADP, the payroll processing company, said private employers added 55,000 jobs in May. Those good reports cheered Wall Street traders, although there was still caution while awaiting the government’s monthly jobs report due out Friday morning. The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up six points to 10,255. Broadcasting stocks did somewhat better than that.
The RBR Radio Index was up 6.636, or 1.7%, to 405.990.
The TVBR Television Index was up 1.494, or 0.7%, to 204.179.
