Was it the government report of an August increase in capital goods orders by businesses that gave stocks a boost Friday? Or were the bulls just tired of seeing the bears running the show for a few days? In any case, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 198 points, or 1.9%, to 10,860. Broadcasting stocks also jumped.
The RBR Radio Index was up 11.366, or 4.6%, to 258.667.
The TVBR Television Index was up 8.061, or 4.5%, to 187.546.
