Stocks gained on Thursday, with the S&P 500 breaking its longest-running stretch of losses this year, as a bigger-than anticipated drop in jobless claims mostly overrode concerns about a budget standoff on Capitol Hill. The Dow industrials climbed 55.04 points, or 0.4%, to 15,328.3.
The RBR Radio Index was up 4.522, or .6%, to 728.996.
The TVBR Television Index was up 18.447, or 2.5%, to 759.612.
