Comments by the Federal Reserve’s policy making committee that the economic recovery is weakening, prompting new Fed efforts to get it back on track, weighed on stock prices. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 55 points, or 0.5%, to 10,644. Broadcasting stocks took a hit.
