Stocks fall hard; Dow ends at five-week low

Stocks closed sharply lower on Thursday as weak economic data from China triggered selloffs in risky assets and buoyed investments like Treasuries and gold. The Dow fell to a five-week low, shedding 175.99 points, or 1.1%, to 16,197.35. The S&P finished the day down 16.40 points, or 0.9%, to 1,828.46, snapping a two-day winning streak.


The RBR Radio Index was up 4.259, or .5%, to 904.709.

The TVBR Television Index was down 3.880, or .5%, to 802.147.
