Stocks Gain Ground As MX Tariffs Could Be Sidelined

U.S. financial indices gained ground in Thursday’s trading on Wall Street, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 181.09 points to 25,720.66. Nasdaq was up 40.08 to 7,615.55.


Why did the market gain ground?

TheStreet.com notes that the Trump Administration may delay implementing a 5% tariff on Mexican goods in response to the White House’s ongoing frustration over U.S.-Mexico border enforcement.

The tariffs are set to begin Monday, and that is now uncertain.

How did media stocks fare?

Urban One sank by 10.2% to $1.94, while Townsquare Media suffered a 6-cent dip, to $5.42.

Saga Communications improved by 3%, to $29.64, while Entercom finished the day at $5.75 with a 2.5% improvement.
