Stocks: Radio Hops, TV drops


American business got back on the job of hiring people, and the stock markets responded positively Friday, although not enough for television stocks we follow, which were mostly on the down  side of flat. But radio picked up some momentum.

The RBR Radio Index rose 5.205, or 0.7%, to 727.481.

The TVBR Television Index fell 2.402, or 0.3%, to 930.636.

Salem, up 4.7%
Beasley, up 3.7%
Cumulus, up 2.9%

Emmis, down 5.9%
Media General, down 1.6%
Nexstar, down 0.9%
