Financial stocks led a Wall Street advance on Wednesday, fueled by strong earnings guidance from State Street Corp., with traders also scooping up battered stocks in other sectors. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged back above the 10K mark, rising 274 points, or 2.8%, to 10,018. Broadcasting stocks were mixed, with radio missing out on the surge.
The RBR Radio Index was down 2.112, or 0.8%, to 277.656.
The TVBR Television Index was up 5.326, or 3.2%, to 172.298.
