The government’s monthly jobs report is due out Friday, so traders were cautious about doing too much buying on Thursday and volume was relatively light. But there was some good news, with weekly applications for new unemployment benefits down and home sales up. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 51 points, or 0.5%, to 10,320. Broadcasting stocks also enjoyed an up day.
The RBR Radio Index was up 4.857, or 2%, to 243.647.
The TVBR Television Index was up 5.293, or 3.1%, to 176.153.
