Commodity stocks, which had been among the biggest recent gainers, slipped on Tuesday as traders tried to assess the strength of economic growth. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day up only a fraction of a single point at 12,808, but the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were both down. Broadcasting stocks also gave up some ground.
The RBR Radio Index was down 5.708, or 1.4%, to 397.321.
The TVBR Television Index was down 5.122, or 1.8%, to 275.663.
