U.S. financial markets surged on Thursday, returning from the Independence Day holiday on an up note. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 183.48 to 24,358.30. Nasdaq gained 83.75, to 7,586.43. Media stocks were mostly on the upswing.
Improvement was seen for iHeartMedia, rising 4 cents to 29 cents per share.
Also up: Entercom, rising 12 cents to $7.72.
Salem Media Group surged 30 cents to $5.65 for a 5.6% gain, while Saga Communications increased in value by 55 cents to $38.90.
Decliners include Urban One, off 9.3% to $2.90 with a 30 cent dip.
Also down: Entravision, falling 18 cents to $4.88.
