The first Monday trading session of December 2016 finished on a positive note, as Amazon shares rose 2.6%, to $759.36, and CBS Corp. gained 1.4%, to $60.99, as company executives shared with UBS Global Media and Communications Conference attendees that it now expects flat growth in 2017 – an improvement from a low single-digit decline.
Meanwhile, The Walt Disney Co. soared 1.5%, to $99.96, and Saga Communications resumed its recent growth spurt with a 1.4% improvement, to $48.90. On the negative side were iHeart, off 2%, to $1.50, and Netflix, down 1.4%, to $119.16.
The RBR Radio Index rose 5.942, or 0.94%, to 640.426.
The TVBR Television Index rose 6.310, or 0.67%, to 951.585.
