U.S. financial markets were on their way to finishing 2017 on a down note Friday, as investors looked to cash in and earn a few extra dollars ahead of new taxation laws set for 2018.
As of 2:13pm Eastern the Dow Jones Industrial Average was off 37.30, to 24,800.21. The Nasdaq Composite index was down 21.34, for 6,928.82.
Media stocks saw mixed activity. Saga Communications was down 9 cents, to $40.41, while Pandora was off 5 cents, to $4.83.
On the upside: iHeartMedia, ahead 2 cents, to $0.50 as of 12:38pm Eastern — its last trade on the OTC Pink index. Townsquare Media was up 14 cents, to $7.74 as of 2:11pm Eastern.
