They are designed, according to the company, “to help solve the critical challenges of modern broadcasters in the North American market and beyond, including the increasingly urgent need for effective cybersecurity and robust remote production workflows.”

And, NAB Show New York attendees got the opportunity to learn in-person about the latest updates to CGI‘s media industry tech products in this space — offerings CGI says are “ideally placed to help broadcast newsrooms navigate an era of dynamic change as the merger between television, online, and social accelerates.”

Among the integrations CGI promoted are the meshing of the OpenMedia newsroom system with Microsoft Teams. This, CGI says, allows all communication and data
relating to a specific story or subject to be viewed directly in OpenMedia, simplifying
collaboration within journalistic teams.

Visitors to the CGI booth were also able to see how the OpenMedia NewsBoard was rebuilt to enable journalists and editorial teams to organize story-centric planning and production processes from anywhere.

Then there is the new cloud-native ReporterApp for Android and iOS, empowering reporters in the field to automatically stay connected to their newsroom and collaborate on content.

Ahead of last week’s show, VP/Consulting Services for Media Dilip Nair was excited about CGI’s presence. “It’s the first time we are exhibiting there as CGI to showcase how broadcasters can leverage our expertise as part of one of the world’s leading IT consultancies to solve the challenges and reduce the complexities in front of them.”

CGI’s Media Solutions, formerly SCISYS Media Solutions, offer a wide range of professional news and content delivery products. This includes radio production tool dira.
