Summer Travel Leads To Trivago Push At Cable

The top advertiser using cable spots to reach consumers is a growing online travel agent that has made actor Tim Williams one of the most recognizable people on TV. We bet you didn’t know his name, either.

In last week’s Media Monitors Cable Spot Ten report, Trivago was No. 1 again, with 50,177 spots.

The activity says a lot about the use of cable TV to push travel-related brands as families and business travelers venture from home now and start planning for their winter break.

It explains why another big online travel brand — TripAdvisor — is a Top 10 advertiser on cable TV.

For the week ending July 23, TripAdvisor was at No. 6, with 29,768 spots.
