Sun Secures Its Top Marketing Slot With Capodanno

BOCA RATON, FLA. — Sun Broadcast Group has selected its new VP/Marketing & Digital by looking locally for its ultimate decision.


Landing the role at the multifaceted radio programming and ad sales company is Paul Capodanno, who will be charged with overseeing Sun’s corporate branding and individual show marketing. He will also oversee the digital charge in Sun’s Shazam for Radio department.

Jason Bailey, CEO of Sun Broadcast Group, spoke highly of Capodanno, noting how he already felt like family the moment he and COO Julio Aponte met him. “He’s quick, forward-thinking and incredibly analytical … all traits we value here.”

In a note to Streamline Publishing’s RBR+TVBR and Radio INK, Bailey added, “Since Julio and I have been so busy this amazingly great year, I thought it was time to turn our brand, our corporate marketing and our digital marketing, including Shazam for Radio, over to an expert.”

Capodanno is the co-founder of Scottsdale, Ariz.-based RM Marketing, also serving in the role of EVP/Marketing & Communications.

He formed the company in 2006, while concurrently serving in other roles in the Boca Raton area. Most recently, Capodanno was Director/Marketing for Boynton Beach-based Source1 Purchasing. From September 2014-August 2015, he served as Digital Marketing EVP for Zimmerman Advertising, where he worked on campaigns for such clients as Office Depot, Party City, Michaels and AutoNation.

Other roles include that of VP/Marketing for Decolav Inc., based in Boca Raton.
