"Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials 2009" to air 1/31


Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials 2009, an interactive entertainment special hosted by Jim Nantz, Lead Play-by-Play Announcer of The NFL on CBS, and co-host Daisy Fuentes, will be broadcast Saturday, Jan. 31 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS.

Sponsors showcase their best commercials during the Super Bowl and the big game wouldn’t be quite the same without them. For many, watching the commercials is the most fun part of the Super Bowl and at millions of dollars for 30 seconds on air, advertisers try to get their money’s worth by rolling out their most creative and innovative spots.  This one-hour special, now in its ninth year, will originate from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay and showcase 10 of the greatest commercials of all time.

The 10 greatest Super Bowl commercials will vie for the number one spot. Viewers can now go to www.cbs.com/superbowl to watch them and vote for their favorite. This year, the top three picks will be revealed during the show and, in a special vote on www.cbs.com/superbowl, viewers will decide which commercial will take home the ultimate title.

Viewers will also be able to catch a sneak peak of this year’s most highly-anticipated commercials before the big game as well as get a behind-the-scenes look at how their favorite spots are made.  In addition, the special will retire one of the most legendary commercials of all-time — the reigning champion, Coca-Cola’s "Mean Joe Greene" spot, which has been the "Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercial" winner for the past six years.
