You don’t often read about ratings for the TV Guide Network, although the new ownership is out to change that. Case in point: “I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story,” which premiered Sunday, December 13, was the highest rated special ever for the network.

The television special, which delivered a 1.0 coverage rating (788,500 HH) for the 8:00 pm telecast, also over-delivered with the network’s key demos. It achieved a triple digit increase (404%) with persons 25-54 over the prior year, and the combined 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm telecasts reached 4.1 million households and 4.8 million viewers (p18+).

“The historic ratings performance indicates positive momentum for TV Guide Network, as it undergoes a major transformation to become the destination for premier entertainment programming,” the network said in announcing the ratings news.

TV Guide Network secured the exclusive rights to air “I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story” amidst the singer’s meteoric rise on the US and worldwide music charts. Susan Boyle’s “I Dreamed A Dream” (Columbia Records) continues to hold the #1 spot on the Billboard 200, becoming the fastest selling debut album over a two-week period after release. The album also hit #1 on the charts last week in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Ireland, Canada and Japan.
