Swapping Miller for Genesee in New York

This story has nothing to do with beer. What’s actually on tap is a change of owners for an AM-FM combo in Upstate New York.

Miller Media, owned by Mark and Julie Miller, is selling WDNY-AM & FM Dansville, NY for $350K. The combo is the only broadcast property that they own.

The buyer is Genesee Media Corporation, headed by Brian Patrick McGlynn. While Genesee has no other broadcast holdings, the brokers at Kozacko Media Services say McGlynn is no stranger to radio. He created Orpanc, a technology company offering business media solutions to broadcasters. At Orpanc McGlynn developed an online platform for radio and launched the DreamRadio Internet radio brand and set of formats.

WDNY-AM is on 1400 kHz with 1kw fulltime, with an adult standards format. WDNY-FM is on 93.9 MHz with 570 watts at 741 feet, with an adult contemporary format.

Dansville is in unrated territory, well south of Rochester off I-390.
