Deal
Victoria Radioworks owns and operates KNAL-AM, and San Antonio Radioworks owns and operates KMFR-AM Pearsall TX. It is going to swap the Pearsall station to bring in FM band reinforcements for the one in Victoria.

Both Radioworks license companies are owned by John Barger.

KMFR is headed to The Worship Center of Kingsville, headed by Rufino Sendejo Jr.

It’s a Class D on 1280 kHz with 460 W-D, 190 W-N, ND. Despite Barger’s choice of license name for the facility, it does not make it into San Antonio, serving an area to the sourthwest of the city.

Victoria, which is rated by Eastlan, is southeast of San Antonio, northeast of Corpus Christi and southwest of Houston. KNAL serves it as a Class B on 1410 kHz with 500 W-U, DAN.

Coming to give it a presence on the FM dial will be K288FU, licensed to Edna TX with 250 W @ 311’. The companies have applied to co-locate the translator with KNAL.
KMFR is currently renting studio and transmitter space from Univison. That deal is about to expire 3/26/13, and the parties will do their best to get it renewed, but deal is not contingent on the success of that effort.
