Want to activate that SiriusXM button on your vehicle’s originally manufactured in-dash entertainment system?

You can now go to one of the nation’s most venerable retailers to get it done.

The satellite radio service provider on Wednesday announced a partnership with Sears Auto Center that gives qualifying owners the opportunity to have their Sirius XM-equipped vehicles serviced at any one of the more than 600 Sears Auto Centers nationwide.

The arrangement empowers Sears Auto associates to immediately check eligibility when a vehicle is brought in for service, and gives them the right to activate a complimentary two-month SiriusXM subscription ahead of a paid service plan.

“Sears Auto serves a tremendous number of auto owners across America as a trusted provider of maintenance and repair services, and we’re very excited to work with them to expand the reach of the SiriusXM Service Lane Program,” said Joe Verbrugge, EVP of sales and development at SiriusXM.  “It enables Sears Auto to provide an enhanced level of service to their customers, allows us to reach many more owners of satellite radio-enabled vehicles, and for the vehicle owner it is a quick and easy process.”

Brian Kaner, president of Sears Auto Center, added, “This is an opportunity to draw new customers to Sears Auto. SiriusXM is a terrific entertainment service, and this is just one more example of how Sears Auto provides added value and entertainment for our members and customers.”
