Tainted diaries pulled in San Diego

Clear Channel San Diego has informed local advertisers that three diaries for Arbitron’s local survey were found to have been linked to the household of an on-air personality at KLSD-AM, positioned locally as XTRA Sports 1360. The employee was not identified, but the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Dave Palet was fired from the station the same day the memo was issued. His agent told the newspaper that Palet denies all claims by Clear Channel and will pursue legal action. Arbitron is now preparing to reissue data for the periods which included the three diaries from Summer 2008 Week 2 in the San Diego metro.
