Tea Party invites some legislators, snubs others

The Tea Party Express has its likes and dislikes – if a politician is on the wrong list, they will be targeted to join the ranks of the unemployed this November. On the other hand, TPE also has a list of heroes – even including one Democrat — who will get a helping hand.

According to political blog TPMDC, TPE spokesperson Mark Williams says that the groundwork for this election has been three years in the making.

Targeted senators include Blanche Lincoln (D-AR), Harry Reid (D-NV), Arlen Specter (D-PA) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA).

On the House side, the group is planning to go after Besty Markey (D-CO), Alan Grayson (D-FL), Baron Hill (D-IN), Barney Frank (D-MA), Dina Titus (D-NV), Tom Perriello (D-VA) and Alan Mollohan (D-WV).

Senate candidates attracting the group’s support include challengers Chuck DeVore (R-CA), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Todd Tihart (R-KS), Rand Paul (R-KY), Sharron Angle (R-NV) and Pat Toomey (R-PA), as well as incumbent Jim DeMint (R-SC).

House candidates getting support from TPE are all incumbents, including Walt Minnick (D-ID, the lone Democrat), Tom McClintock (R-CA), Tom Price (R-GA), Mike Pence (R-IN), Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Joe Wilson (R-SC) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).

RBR-TVBR observation: The list of groups with an interest in the midterms and money to spend isn’t getting any shorter. And every time a new group jumps in, it only adds incentive for an equal and opposite jump from some other group.
