Ted Norman dead at 86

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the death of Ted Norman, former manager of WBAP-AM and KSCS-FM Dallas-Ft. Worth. He is credited with bringing Country to the FM band in the market.


The former World War II bomber pilot and big band singer in New York returned to his native Texas and ended up in radio. He was credited with being one of the first to bring Country to the FM dial by launching KSCS – “Silver Country Stereo”.

Norman died last week (2/4) in Fort Worth. He was 86.
