At 3:18am Saturday (12/1) a war of words commenced between one of the nation’s fiercest combatants of retransmission fee increases and the broadcast TV company formerly known as Gannett, owner of 47 television stations and two radio stations in 39 markets.


A big dispute had erupted between the two players. A potentially ugly battle was ready to be waged.

By lunchtime, it was all over.
