Univision’s young-leaning TeleFutura network announced the launch of TeleFutura On Demand. The Spanish broadcaster said the new VOD channel is being launched with most US video distributors.

The VOD channel, announced during NATPE, allows fans 24/7 access to their favorite TeleFutura programs, including primetime novelas available within 24 hours after linear air.

“In partnership with our distributors, our goal is to offer viewers ongoing access to the best Spanish-language content,” said Tonia O’Connor, president of Distribution Sales & Marketing, Univision Communications. “TeleFutura’s programming is a passion point for U.S. Hispanics and a dedicated VOD channel creates an opportunity for more engagement.”

New programming is being made available to viewers on a daily basis.  Initial programs being offered include “India,” “Escandalo TV” (Showbiz TV), “Así es la Vida” (That’s Life), “Delicioso,” and “Cine de las Estrellas” (All-Star Movies).

Univision has had a VOD platform in place since early 2009. “The launch of a dedicated channel for TeleFutura content speaks to the growth of VOD among Hispanics and the increased demand for relevant non-linear Spanish-language content,” noted O’Connor.
