Telemundo Communications will reveal the grand prize winner of the 7UP Recipe for Success contest on local station breaks during Telemundo’s new national morning show "Levántate" on Sept. 12. The announcement is the culmination of a unique affiliation that launched six months ago between Telemundo and 7UP with 100% Natural Flavors in an effort to create a customized interactive program to engage U.S. Hispanic consumers.

The initiative featured creative promotional execution and integrated marketing opportunities which fostered local station activation, consumer engagement and grass roots outreach. In addition, Telemundo designed and built www.Receta7UP.com, a customized website, specifically for the initiative that local Telemundo Web sites in participating markets could link to. The contest came to life through more than 40 demonstration events conducted in five markets: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Phoenix.

"Connecting our partners with their desired consumer is a signature Telemundo offering," said Jacqueline Hernandez, Telemundo COO. "We have the resources and expertise in the industry to deliver the most creative and targeted marketing solutions and programs to our clients."

"This successful partnership with 7UP has been an innovative way to connect our client with its consumer while also engaging our audience to participate in an interactive program that caters to their specific interests; in this case cooking," added Enrique Perez, SVP/Telemundo Stations Sales. "Telemundo is able to provide such unique sales promotions and opportunities through our many multi-platform offerings."

The national contest, which launched in April 2008, encouraged consumers to test their flair for flavor and culinary skills for a chance to win $70,000 and the title of 7UP 100% Naturally Talented Chef. To enter the 7UP Recipe for Success contest, contestants were asked to submit their original 7UP-infused recipes online at www.Receta7UP.com, via mail or at in-store demos in select markets.

Seven finalists were chosen and will be shown participating in the final "Cook-Off" round, hosted by Noguera and judged by celebrity Chef Carlos Fernandez along with Marcelo Marino and Michelle Torres Garcia, two guest Chefs from the Cordon Bleu School in Miramar, Florida. The winner will be announced on "Levántate" when the segments air on Sept. 12 during local station cutaways.
