Telemundo announced it has extended its exclusive US broadcast and online rights to away World Cup qualifying matches of The Mexican National Team through 2013.

“Deportes Telemundo is the gold standard in sports coverage in Hispanic television,” declared Telemundo President Don Browne.

“For over 10 years, Telemundo has been the exclusive home of the Mexican National Team’s World Cup away qualifying matches. This agreement keeps that tradition alive during Mexico’s journey on the road to qualification,” added Jorge Hidalgo, Senior Executive Vice President, Telemundo Network Sports.

Emmy Award-winning announcer, Andres Cantor, who recently renewed his commitment with Telemundo, will call the World Cup qualifying games live and on location. Together with commentator Jessi Losada and analyst Sammy Sadovnik, viewers will enjoy extensive coverage before, during and after the games, on-air, online and via mobile. Mexico’s match-ups on the road to the World Cup will be determined when the preliminary draw for qualifying takes place on July 30, 2011.
