This is the third major partnership for the two on the network’s original production of the novela La Reina del Sur (The Queen of the South). The promotional effort started 2/2 and ran through 2/14. One grand prize winner won a trip to LA for herself and a guest (airfare, hotel and ground transportation included), as well as access to attend the launch party, which took place on 2/20 with the cast in attendance.
Available in seven markets, including Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Dallas, Houston, Chicago and San Francisco, the promotion featured a custom microsite at www.hondaylareina.com for viewers to log on and enter the sweepstakes. Telemundo also produced four 2-minute webisodes exclusive to the microsite, containing never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the show, shot especially for this campaign. Webisodes will be available on the microsite through March.
