NBCUniversal’s Telemundo Internacional announced an international licensing agreement with Netflix for streaming content from the Telemundo library to subscribers all across Latin America.  The deal includes more than 1,200 hours per year of Telemundo’s top original productions including top-rated properties.

For example, the novela “La Reina del Sur” (The Queen of the South) is already set for Netflix’s premiere launch in Latin America in the SVOD platform in all connected devices later in the year.

“We are very proud to be working with Netflix and will fully support their international expansion strategy working closely with their executives to provide the best content Telemundo has to offer,” said Luis Daniel Capriles, Vice President of International Digital Media at Telemundo Internacional. “The growth of Netflix’s SVOD platform is in our priority list as part of our expansion into all new media and emerging platforms.”

Netflix had announced plans in July to expand to 43 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean by the end of this year. It recently announced an international streaming agreement with CBS as well.
