The Arch lends a hand to local tornado victims

This past Saturday, Bonneville’s Classic Hits 106.5 The Arch (WARH-FM) hosted a fund drive to assist the victims of the recent New Year’s eve tornados that hit Sunset Hills, Missouri. The station set up their live broadcast HQ at the Vantage Credit Union’s location in Sunset Hills on 1/8 between 2:00 and 4:00 pm, and urged listeners and supporters to make a $10.00 minimum donation for 106.5 The Arch T-Shirts and other Arch-related prizes.

In that two hour timeframe, The Arch’s generous listeners raised more than $1,250 to benefit the City of Sunset Hills Tornado Assistance Fund.

Said PD Kevin Robinson: “Bonneville St. Louis Radio Group and the entire 106.5 The Arch team were proud to support the relief efforts for the victims of the devastating New Year’s Eve tornado.  Road closures and other factors threatened to keep us from helping out in such short notice.  Fortunately everything worked out and our listeners responded with a tremendous showing of concern and compassion to support Sunset Hills.”

RBR-TVBR observation: Another example of Bonneville coming to the rescue in St. Louis. Between The Arch and WIL-FM, there are plenty of local examples where these two stations alone have lent a hand over the years. It a good culture to build in their city–to know that your favorite radio stations will be there for you in times of trouble. It certainly has to help with breaking the ice in setting marketing appointments as well.
