From 8-10:01 p.m., “The Biggest Loser: Couples” averaged a 3.1/8 in 18-49 and 8.2 million viewers overall. “Biggest Loser” ranked #2 in its highly competitive time period among women 18-34 and women 18-49 behind only Fox’s two-hour “American Idol.” From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Biggest Loser” increased its 18-49 rating by 14 percent (to a 3.3 rating from a 2.9) and its overall viewership by 12 percent (8.7 million vs. 7.8 million).
At 10 p.m., the premiere of “Parenthood” (3.1/9 in adults 18-49, 8.1 million viewers overall) won the time period in adults 18-49, as well as men and women 18-49 and adult, men and women 18-34, topping CBS’s “The Good Wife” and a special Oscars edition of ABC’s “20/20.”
“Parenthood” retained 94 percent of its lead-in from the final half-hour of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” (3.3 from 9:30-10 p.m.). “Parenthood” also maintained its full 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its second, while competing shows on ABC and CBS declined half-hour to half-hour. “Parenthood” grew from half-hour to half-hour among adults, men and women 18-34.
