Envision Radio NetworksEnvision Radio Networks and The Chop Shop Guitar Show will pay tribute to the best guitar songs of the ‘90s from both veterans and newcomers with a free two hour radio special which will be available for Memorial Day Weekend broadcast.

Inspired by their own heroes who were burning up the fretboard in previous decades, plenty of guitar players made their biggest impact with songs released in the ‘90s including Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell, Metallica’s James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett, Stone Temple Pilots guitarist Dean DeLeo and Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters. They came armed with riffs that had stylistic familiarity, and yet also ushered in new flavors of riffing that were previously unheard.

Additionally, veteran players including Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Ted Nugent, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, U2’s The Edge and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd added important entries to their own existing guitar legacies.

Host Steve Black and a voting panel made up of both experts and programmers from Chop Shop affiliate stations will choose the very best guitar songs from the ‘90s, narrowing the initial list down to 90 choice moments which will be available on www.chopshopradio.com.

The Chop Shop’s ‘Top 90 Guitar Songs of the ‘90s’ two hour radio special is available starting Wednesday, 5/23 through Monday, 5/28.
