Next Wednesday’s (1/19) planned unveiling of News Corporation’s digital newspaper for the Apple iPad, The Daily, has been put on hold. Other News Corp. entities report that the product still needs a little tweaking.
According to the Wall Street Journal, News Corp. and Apple decided they needed more time to test a forthcoming subscription service from Apple. A source was quoted as saying that the app works and the service works, but what’s needed is time to make them work together.
All Things Digital, also owned by News Corp., was first to report the delay. It said the debut has been delayed for weeks, not months.

RBR-TVBR observation: Don’t screw this up. Introducing a new digital product that doesn’t work would be really stupid. A little delay won’t hurt.
