The Latest EAS Test Report Card Arrives

On Sept. 27, 2017, the FCC conducted the third nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS).

The test was conducted in conjunction with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National Weather Service.

The FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau just issued its report card on the test, designed to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the EAS, with an emphasis on testing FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS).
