“Nielsen’s participation in The Hoodie Awards is a perfect complement to our efforts to engage and empower multicultural consumers. Not only do we get the chance to celebrate the accomplishments of community leaders and organizations from around the country, but our participation also provides us with the opportunity to raise the level of awareness about the purchasing power of the African-American consumer,” said Cheryl Pearson-McNeil, SVP/public affairs and government relations for The Nielsen Company, and a featured seminar presenter at the weekend-long event. “Each decision you make — which CD or DVD to buy, which movie to go see, which radio station to listen to or television program to watch — is a chance for you to be powerful!” says Pearson-McNeil. Her session, “Living Your Life Like It’s Golden: Do You Know Your True (Consumer) Power,” will be presented at 9 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 28.
