A many are now saying, podcasts and other online revenue are currently showing the best revenue growth for stations. In fact, their revenue was up 13% in Q1. Last week, The Association for Downloadable Media held a webcast titled, “The Podcast Consumer Revealed.” The study finds podcast’s stronger emotional connection is a strong selling point. Also, the percentage of Americans who have ever listened to an audio podcast is now around 22%.
Says Edison Research’s Tom Webster: “If you are in the business of creating downloadable media, this is key, significant research that you won’t want to miss. This report and webcast will look at demographics and usage, key audience behaviors, content preferences, and attitudes towards advertising and sponsorships.”
