Michael SavageAs expected, Cumulus Media Networks announced that The Savage Nation, hosted by Michael Savage, will move to the 3p-6p ET drivetime timeslot beginning in January. He’ll replace Sean Hannity at that point on numerous Cumulus stations. Savage tells RBR-TVBR: “I WAS BORN FOR AFTERNOON DRIVE.  THE BIGGEST SHAKE-UP IN TALK RADIO HISTORY WILL REVEAL TO MILLIONS OF NEW LISTENERS WHAT CREATIVE TALK IS ALL ABOUT. TOO MANY TALKERS MAY AS WELL BE THE NPR OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. ALL DAY LONG REPUBLICAN TALKING POINTS. REAL CONSERVATIVES CAN JUMP. AND ARE NOT AFRAID TO DISCUSS MOVIES, TV, FICTION, POETRY, SCIENCE, MUSEUMS, FOOD, CLOTHING, EVEN WOMEN’S SHOES!  THERE’S A MICH WIDER WORLD THAN OBAMA AND THE POLITICIANS. THEY ARE NOT THE SUN THE MOON AND THE  STARS.”

The Savage Nation will air on more than 200 affiliates of Cumulus Media Networks, including 60 stations O&O’d by Cumulus. Some of the cities where Savage will air during drivetime include: New York (WABC), Chicago (WLS), Dallas (WBAP), Washington (WMAL), San Francisco (KSFO) and WJR (Detroit).

“Mike is a proven ratings winner. Compelling, thought-provoking content is paramount – and Mike delivers show after show,” said John Dickey, Executive Vice President and co-COO of Cumulus.

“With this important timeslot as well as the iconic Cumulus stations coveted by everyone in radio, I hope to ‘edutain’ the world. Politics will always be my mainstay but there is so much more to talk about. Breaking news and science, religion, films, books have always been my calling cards. With these new stations, I break out a new deck,” said Savage.

  1. This is a great move by Cumulus! I believe that Michael Savage will be the ratings King in all the markets you expose him to. This will make Cumulus even richer than they already are!
