FOX Animation Domination Sunday premieres kicked off last night with THE SIMPSONS at 8p which posted a 3.7/10 among Adults 18-49. While THE SIMPSONS was down -14% from last year’s premiere (4.3/12 on 9/27/09), it was up +16% from its average last season (3.2/8).
At 8:30p the premiere of THE CLEVELAND SHOW delivered a 3.1/8 among Adults 18-49, down -37% from its series debut last year (4.9/12 on 9/27/09), but up +7% from its 09/10 season average (2.9/7).
The one-hour season premiere of FAMILY GUY at 9p posted a 4.5/11 among Adults 18-49, down -15% from last year’s opener (5.3/12) but showed a +29% increase compared to last season’s average (3.5/9). FAMILY GUY was the highest rated entertainment program of the night among Adults 18-49.
FOX ranked third for the night among Adults 18-49, No. 2 in Adults 18-34 and No. 1 in Teens and Women 18-34.
Competition
Following a special telecast of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition at 7p (1.4/4), ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s season premiere at 8p (2.5/6) dropped -19% from its 8p debut on the same night last year (3.1/8). At 9p, Desperate Housewives (4.2/10) continued its steady decline with its lowest season premiere ever in its seven year run, down -11% from its premiere in the same time period a year ago (4.7/11). Brothers & Sisters also matched its lowest season premiere to date (3.0/8, tie with last year on 9/27/09).
Due to an NFL overrun until 7:47p, Fast Nationals for CBS are approximate. From 7-8p, NFL Overrun and the season premiere of 60 Minutes combined to deliver a 5.1/15. From 8-9p, 60 Minutes and the premiere of The Amazing Race posted a 3.2/8. At 9p, The Amazing Race posted a 3.6/9, followed by the conclusion of The Amazing Race and the season premiere of Undercover Boss during the 10p hour at a 3.7/10. For reference, last season’s premiere of Amazing Race posted a 3.4/8, while the first telecast of Undercover Boss without a Superbowl lead-in last season posted a 5.2/13.

Following Football Night In America at 7p (2.0/6), 730p (3.3/10) and 8p (5.2/14), NBC’s Sunday Night Football Game 3: New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins posted an 6.5/16 from 830-11p, up from last year’s Sunday Night week three matchup (ARI Cardinals vs. IND Colts), which delivered a 5.6/14 from 8:30-11p in the Fast Nationals before rising to an 6.8/17 from 8:31-11:13p in the Finals.
