The Tacher Company continues its recent string of new deals: It has been a long time player in national representation in Montana, however, until the signing of Marks the firm had been void in markets East of Billings.  These new stations deliver the entire Eastern side of the state.

Specifically, Tacher Managing Partners Greg Tacher and Joe Costello have signed an exclusive national rep deal with Marks Group Broadcasting, which operates a total of eight stations in 5 Montana and North Dakota markets.  The Marks Group stations and markets include Forsyth, MT–KIKC-AM & KIKC-FM, Miles City, MT– KYUS-FM & KMTA-AM, Glendive, MT — KXGN-AM & KDZN-FM, Sidney, MT — KGCX-FM, Williston, ND — KDSR-FM.

Tacher says that the firm (in business since 1968) has been expanding into the Midwest and East for the past year and that the signing of Marks Group is a welcome addition.

The Tacher Company also signed KALY-AM in Albuquerque as their exclusive national radio rep firm. Tacher West Coast says the AM 1240 frequency there hosts a new station that went on the air mid-December with a new format called “JENNiRADIO”. The format is Top 40 hits but presented in a family-friendly environment to appeal to moms and kids.

KALY has a strong signal in Albuquerque and has already successfully executed several events in the market. Jennifer Smart, 14, is the voice of the station and she does appearances and interacts with the local community.  She created the format, which has streamed on the internet (www.jenniradio.com) for several years. She started the Jennifer Smart Foundation (which owns the station) to assist organizations and raise awareness of issues regarding kids’ health, education, animals, and the environment.

RBR-TVBR observation: How about that? A Top-40 family-friendly station localized for listeners and advertisers—with a kid as the talent. Jenni has also done many red carpet events and has interviewed top celebrities in the entertainment world.  She began talking to stars on red carpets at eight, and has interviewed more celebs than anyone else her age, according to her website. And guess what—she’s offering up her format for national syndication. KALY is the first one.
