The Truth about Duluth

Townsquare Media GroupTownsquare Media was busy acquiring assets in 2014, but not radio assets. Radio is back on the shopping list this year, but the acquisition it has just filed is not what you’d call major, but it does involve a Moose.

Moose Lake, that is. The station TM is picking up is FM translator W293CT, licensed to Moose Lake MN.

The seller is non-profit Refute Media Group, headed by President Daniel B. Hatfield.

EVP Alex Berkett signed off on the deal for Townsquare.

TM will pay $55,000 cash for the station.

According to the contract, Townsquare will use the translator in association with the widely-available WEBC-AM Duluth MN, although Moose Lake is well to the southwest of town. The translator does not cover the AM’s hometown.

The translator is on 106.5 MHz, with 55 W @ 128’.

WEBC is a Class B on 560 kHz with 5 kW-U.
