Broadcast Architecture’s new Smooth AC affiliate is on in Cleveland, as “Smooth FM 107.3, The Wave.” The station, now owned by Rubber City Radio Group after the recent sale from Elyria-Lorain Broadcasting, has infused instrumental music with hip R&B and AC vocals. The Wave also airs Broadcast Architecture’s The “Smooth Jazz Top 20 Countdown” on Saturday mornings.

WNWV recently switched from its AAA format V 107.3. However, the smooth jazz format continued to run on the station’s HD2 subchannel, and online. Rubber City Radio Group flipped it to smooth AC on 1-4. The smooth jazz format continues on 107.3 HD-2 as “Wave Classics.”

The new line-up features veteran Cleveland DJs Dan Deely (mornings), Mark Ribbins (middays), and Bobby Thomas (afternoons), Lynn Kelly (evenings – voicetracked), and Maria Lopez (overnights). Dave Koz’s weekly syndicated show will air on Sunday mornings, as it had during The Wave’s prior smooth jazz format.
